Together with his wife Amita, CK is a dedicated philanthropist, supporting social development, science, technology, art, culture and heritage preservation. The Group actively supports the family trusts that run several science and art museums, hospitals, an archaeological site, a university and schools.

As Co-Chairman of the CK Birla Group, Amita provides direction and strategic insights to a broad portfolio of businesses. Under her leadership, the CK Birla Group has invested in several initiatives to grow at the forefront of a rapidly evolving world by leveraging technology, talent and digital transformation. She is instrumental in driving the successful execution of transformative projects across the Group both in India and in global markets.
Additionally, she is passionate about bringing world-class clinical excellence and patient care to India, and actively engages with the Group’s healthcare business. Her commitment includes overall business excellence, and specifically driving enhanced healthcare facilities and experiences. Her passion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has ensured that across the group, various businesses have KPIs and programs where younger and differentiated voices can be heard.
Amita was pivotal in diversifying the CK Birla Group with its first non-manufacturing entity, Birlasoft, which she established in 1995. As Chairman and Founder, under her impactful leadership, she has expanded Birlasoft’s international presence and guided the service delivery excellence, achieving significant milestones in the global IT services market. Her approach effectively balances a focus on new technologies and emerging opportunities.
Together with her husband CK, she actively supports social development, healthcare, and the advancement of science, technology, education, art, and culture through their philanthropic initiatives.
