Rukmini Devi Birla founded the Modern High School for Girls at Kolkata in 1952. This leading school educates over 2,500 girls every year, from nursery to class XII. Affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), the school has a sustained record of academic excellence; and has produced several toppers.
The school has a holistic approach to education and is committed to developing creative and independent individuals. Students are trained in public speaking, creative writing, dance, yoga and other skills.
